The PAM YO! Story

PAM YO is a material-led design studio working with East African weaving
systems.

Our objects originate from tools of daily life. We design carriers of food, goods, and movement. These are refined for use without losing their purpose.

We produce slowly because structure requires time, not because slowness is a
virtue.

  • Techniques

Each PAM YO! piece begins with
the rhythm of hand and fibre, the art of weaving passed down through
generations. Our artisans transform age-old Kenyan basketry methods into
contemporary forms, crafting bags that carry memory and meaning. Every curve,
knot, and finish is a quiet dialogue between heritage and design

  • Material

    We choose nature as
our palette: sisal, banana, baobab, cotton, raffia, and reclaimed
    leather
. Each fibre is sourced locally and woven using tradition and intention.
We celebrate texture and imperfection as marks of authenticity. Nothing rushed.
We are focused only on the integrity of touch and time.

  • Sustainability & Purpose

    Our journey honours
    people and planet alike.
We work directly with artisans, ensuring fair partnerships and
dignity in every collaboration. Offcuts are reborn into
smaller accessories, embodying circular thinking. By creating in small,
    thoughtful runs
, we avoid excess — because true luxury is never wasteful.

    “We weave not to
follow fashion, but to remember who we are.”
